Next 19-20 October 2017, the Spanish Rail Infrastructure Manager, Adif, together with the International Union of Railways, UIC, will be hosting in Madrid the 6th edition of the UIC NextStation conference, the global reference for leaders and decision-makers to share the latest experiences and best practices regarding the design, financing and operation of railway stations.
The conference will be composed of:
- 2 plenary sessions (opening and closing), 2 round tables, and 8 technical sessions on specific themes.

- A programme of technical visits
The conference will address the key issues under the main theme ‘Smart Stations in Smart Cities’. Madrid Chamartín Railway Station is located in the north of Madrid, on the Agustín de Foxá Street; it has direct links with metro lines 1 and 10 and all railway commuter lines.
The opening ceremony, round table and parallel sessions will be held in the premises of Madrid Urban Exhibition and Events, (MEEU) located in the first floor of the Chamartin Railway Station, a 33,000 square meter area for leisure and business.
